Built with the people who use it

Our products come out of feedback from wheelchair users, relatives and testers. Every order funds the next iteration.

New at Autak

The latest steps in development, briefly.

  • Close-up of the wheelchair frame with machined aluminium parts.

    Prototype

    Second prototype goes into assembly

The milled aluminium parts for the second wheelchair have arrived. It will be the first one to survive presentations and load testing in parallel — the first prototype stays in the lab.

  • Testing the BusBuddy app at a bus stop in Aachen.

    Product

BusBuddy tested on real bus routes

With support from the StädteRegion Aachen we tested the app on real bus routes. Red means the wrong bus, green the right one — and it worked straight away.

  • Trade fair booth with the Autak wheelchair prototype.

    Event

    On the road at CYBATHLON

Assistive technology in competition, developed with the people who use it. Exactly the attitude we build the wheelchair with.

What users say

Feedback from field tests and from the shop.

  • I can see at a glance whether that is my bus. Sounds trivial, until you have spent twenty minutes guessing.

  • Connie clips on in a minute and fits in a backpack afterwards. It was the first time I got my suitcase to the platform on my own.

  • On a test drive you feel the difference between a ramp and a chair that simply takes the step.
